Today, Jinja’s top music fest, the Nyege Nyege International Music Festival is back at the Nile Discovery Beach.
Having the likes of Milege Band, Undercover Brothers, Jahliya, Yallah MC, Lady Slyke, Sabar Zibula as well as others from visiting countries like UK’s Man from Timbuktu, Riddlore from USA, Winnie from Southern Sudan and Kenya’s Makadem, the festival almost outdid itself at the debut, though the organisers are proving that they are not yet to stop.
After the disastrous weather on the debut edition, the festival choose to bring the fun closer by positioning it at the beginning of September rather than in the middle of October.
This time round, they’ve lined up Burkina Faso Hip Hop act Joey le Soldat, Niger’s Mamman Sani, Kenya’s Yetu Shani as well as ugandan acts like Undercover Brothers, Lady Slyke, Joshua Kagimu, Afroman Spice and DJ Rachel among others.
Tickets go for shs150,000/= for the entire festival and shs50,000/= per day, without camping and tent fees.
Nyege Nyege Festival is organized by Boutiq Foundation – a community based organization in Uganda that seeks to develop local arts and culture sector by creating opportunities for upcoming artistes while connecting underground acts from different places of the continent.
